MAC has validation for product asset types, which is conducted on the background.
The validation includes:
1. Supported product asset type
Find the list at https://metroassetcenter.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/15000035034 If not supported, the file will be rejected.
2. MGB number is not resolved
If upload was done with GTIN and GTIN is not matched to any MGB, the upload will be rejected.
S3 upload: the upload is rejected if file name doesn't follow naming convention (the naming convention is described here https://metroassetcenter.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/15000035034).
3. Supported File format check
Product Asset Type | Supported File Format (supported for CDN publication in bold) | File Size |
---|---|---|
| TIF, TIFF, PNG, JPG/JPEG, GIF, EPS, PSD, DNG, BMP, AI (AI files are not published to CDN) | any |
| > 0 and <= 4 MB | |
Product Image 360 & 3D | no validation by file size | |
Product Information Sheet for | PDF, PPTX | any |
Product Video | MPEG, MPG, FLA, F4V, WMV, MOV, SWF, WAV, AVI, MP4 | any |
* can be image or document
4. Duplicate or new version
Image and video file is rejected as a duplicate if there is an existing asset in MAC with the same asset name (example: FR PIM 81405003001 01) and file size (in bytes) and data source/content provider. If file size or content provider is different, file is uploaded as a new version. If file/asset came with some different metadata, new metadata will be applied to the existing assets and file will be uploaded as a new version.
Document file size is not checked. If case of new upload, new version will be added.
