MAC Upload Assistant (https://upload-dam.mac.metro-group.com/) is intended for enhancement the process of uploading assets into MAC. The user-friendly interface will allow uploading assets and populating metadata in fast and convenient way.

Login
There are two option to login into MAC Upload Assistant:

If you are an employee of METRO/Makro, sign in as METRO/Makro employee via "Login for employees" button (1)
If you are an external vendor, sign in as external vendor with individual Login and Password via "Login for external users" button (2).
To get MAC credentials external vendors have to submit a request to MAC helpdesk using MAC Online Support form (see Contact Support Team chapter).
After successful login into application you are redirected to the first screen of the application.
The assets uploading via MAC Upload Assistant requires a few simple steps.
Change language
The system support 3 languages: English (default), German and French. The button to switch is located on the left panel.
Step 1 - Select Asset Category
On the first screen you are able to choose the Asset Upload Category (Pic.2). The Asset Category defines the type of content you would like to upload
for Corporate Head Office:
- OWN BRANDS - Assets for Own Brands
- CAMPAIGNS - Corporate Campaigns assets
for Countries:
- PRODUCT ASSETS - product assets of different types (see the guide https://metroassetcenter.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/15000039150)
- BRAND IMAGE - product related asset type Brand Image
for all content editors and managers:
- BANNER - M:Shop Banners
- CATEGORY - M:Shop Category images
- AMBIENT IMAGE - Ambient images and environmental photoshoots
for MSP designers:
- MSP - to upload the content for MSP
- OB CAMPAIGNS - to upload assets which must be included into one of the OB campaigns
Step 2 - Select files for uploading
There are two options to select files:
- drag and drop the files from the appropriate folder on your computer to the dedicated area or
- press "SELECT FILES" button and choose the files in the appropriate folder on your computer
Note: File size should not exceed 2GB

Step 3 - Populate metadata
Then you are redirected to the next screen where you are able to enrich the files with the metadata.

If its is supported, file will have a preview. For each file/asset you can provide metadata.
All the mandatory fields are marked with *.
Apply to selected feature
You may apply the data from one asset to another selected:
- Fill in the data on one asset
- Select the assets where you want to apply the same data via checkboxes on the left
- Click "Apply to selected"
- Check/uncheck the fields you would like to apply their values on the popup
- Click "Apply"
Validation rules
In order to ensure proper metadata quality, a number of validation rules are applied.
Until you provide valid data to all assets, "Submit for Upload" button is disabled
Note: the following actions are available on metadata enrichment screen:
- (1) Reset Metadata: if you want to clear metadata for some assets (or for all assets), you should check check-boxes against appropriate assets to select them and press "Reset Metadata" button.
- (2) Remove assets: you are able to remove some assets from the uploading session. To do so, check check-boxes against appropriate assets to select them and click button "Remove Assets".
- (3) Upload more files: press the button "Upload more files" to add additional files to the current uploading session.
- (4) Apply to selected: to save time provided all needed data you can apply the values from one asset to other selected (see the flow described above)

Step 4 - Submit uploading assets into MAC
When all the metadata is populated, you're ready to submit assets into MAC - press "Submit" button.
The results of uploading will be displayed on the screen.

You are able to start new uploading session by pressing the button "Start new upload". Thus you will be redirected to the first screen where you can start a new uploading session.
After you finishes up upload you can also go to Upload log page and check the status of your upload (you can check the assets uploaded only by your own).

Statuses that are available in Upload log:
- 'Queued - asset is processing.
- 'Rejected' - asset is rejected due to some validation checks failure.
- 'Failed' - upload attempt is failed.
- 'In MAD validation' - asset exposed in MAD due to upload rules and needs validation.
- 'Success' - asset is successfully uploaded in MAC.
- Details - depends on upload status:
- For 'Success' - link to the uploaded asset in MAC is available. In case if asset already deleted the link won't be available.
- For 'Rejected' - reason of rejection is displayed. E.g. "Full duplicate".
- For "Failed" - some recommendations are given.
