MAC User Roles and Functions

Asset Lifecycle
- Work-In Progress (WIP) - Asset is not visible to end users. In this status Content Editor has review his uploads, enrich the new assets with metadata and assign them to relevant set of classifications. After that asset can be submitted for approval.
- Pending - Asset is submitted to Content Manager for approval. Asset is not visible to end users. Content Manager reviews Pending assets, verifies content and assigned metadata, and either approves or rejects pending assets.
- Approved - Approved assets are published in MAC and become visible for MAC users. Assets can be then downloaded from MAC for print, publishing in web, social, or available for other distribution channels.
- Expiring Soon/Expired - If an asset has the usage period defined, it will automatically expire on the rights end date. Expired assets are visible for MAC end users with a watermark (see https://metroassetcenter.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/15000028030), but master file is not available for download.
Approval Process
- All the uploaded assets initially have Work-In Progress status in MAC and are not visible for end users
- Metro Content Manager reviews uploaded assets submitted for approval in Content Review space and makes one of the following decisions:
a.Assets are approved and can be published in MAC
b.Assets are not valid to be published in MAC
c.Assets require improvement - Approved assets become available for end users in MAC
- Rejected assets are moved to Work-In Progress status
